Divorce and Separation Counseling

With every passage there is a death of sorts, a pause, and a call to something that is awakening.

Choosing to end an intimate relationship or realizing that it has already, somehow, come to an end can be a powerful time in one’s life. There is often a sense of deep loss and disappointment, betrayal, confusion and uncertainty. One’s emotional life often becomes central while the ground under our feet falls away. Intense feelings of loneliness, grief, shame, despair, rage, can be utterly exhausting and disorienting. Whether this is the case or whether one is simply seeking support navigating practical daily life in unfamiliar territory, separation and divorce can be very challenging times!

In the midst of such journeys, what is emerging? What wants to be seen and heard? What does healing look like, for individuals and, or for relationships? Are there limiting thoughts interfering with what is emerging? Can there still be love and beauty, and suffering? How does one nourish oneself spiritually, emotionally, and physically in the midst of crisis? Is it possible?

I offer support to individuals and to couples who seek to deepen self awareness, find value, meaning, and sometimes mutual respect and understanding, as they transition out of marriage or long term relationships. Support can be through any number of therapeutic modalities and it can also include helping to create and facilitate private or witnessed releasing or passage ceremonies for individuals, couples, families or communities.
